Aastra history

1983    Aastra Technologies Limited was created

1992    Aastra entered the telecommunications business and began to develop and market consumer-oriented products

2000    Aastra made a serious entry into the small business telephone market with the acquisition of Nortel Networks Access Solutions Analogue Telephone business

2001    Aastra broadened its scope with the acquisition of Nortel’s Meridian Business System (MBS) Digital Centrex product portfolio further enhancing its position within the North American business communications marketplace

2002    Aastra acquired Nortel’s CVX product line of remote access servers and network gateway equipment expanding the company’s product portfolio and extending its market reach

2003    Aastra entered the enterprise communications market with the acquisition of the PBX telephone systems division of Swiss-based Ascom Holdings AG and in doing so significantly expanded its European presence

2005    Aastra made two acquisitions that substantially strengthened its presence and product offering in the European enterprise communication marketplace. With the acquisition of the Enterprise Telephony Business of EADS Telecom, Aastra moved into second position in the French enterprise communication market. 
In acquiring the DeTeWe Telecom Systems Business, Aastra improved its technology platform, added leading edge wireless technology to its product offering, and, significantly enhanced its position in the German communications marketplace.
